Great Music

And did you exchange

A walk on part in the war

For a lead role in a cage?

Always liked that Pink Floyd lyric. What is the walk on part of the war, for any of us, verses the leading role in a cage? What does it mean? Certainly it hearkens us to reflect on the transition from youth to adulthood, the changes brought on by leaving our college apartments and used cars (freedom) to that of owning the biggest homes we can buy and leasing every cent of car we can sign for (Debt and lack of choice). But that is too easy.

It can more likely mean the deals we make with ourselves…the whole notion of cognitive dissonance, and rationalization. Boy we can deal with just about anything with a good dose of those two seasonings! Betrayal, Infidelity, Loss of Intimacy, Hostility…anything is possible.

What would/could be your war, and walk-on part?

What might be/is your cage, of which you have a leading role?

What are you doing about either?

I’m going to get another cup of coffee.
